Hi, my name is
Dr. John A. Gilbert and I am a professor in the Department of Mechanical and
Aerospace Engineering. I also direct our Consortium for Holography,
Applied Mechanics, and
Photonics (CHAMP).
This site includes some information about me and what I do here at UAH. Whether you're visiting our university for the first time, a student looking for a chance to become involved in something exciting, searching for technical information, a faculty or staff member wanting to make new friends, or a sponsor seeking to back a winning effort, we may want to work with you.
Having graduated students from 5 different departments, I'm always looking for new opportunities and talent. For those of you who may be interested in working with me and my group, I have posted a copy of my resume along with brief descriptions of some of our current research projects on this site.
If you're here to see what I teach, course information and copies of the notes and manuals that I use in class are included.
I have served as a faculty advisor to the UAH Student Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers for the past eighteen years. You may want to visit our ASCE Chapter web site to see why.

Please contact me if you have questions or require further information.
