Computational Fluids Lab

Dr. Kader Frendi is building a world class Computational Fluids Laboratory (CFL). This Lab has a Beowulf cluster of 64 single processor PCs with a 2.8 MHz P4 chip and 1GB Ethernet connection. The cluster uses MPI for parallel jobs. Each graduate student is provided office space and a Sun workstaion or a PC . The CFD Lab has two Color Laser printers, CFD animation software..etc. In addition to CFD, Dr. Frendi, in collaboration with three other MAE faculty, is building an Acoustic measurement Lab that will complement the CFD capability. Graduate Research Assistantships (GRA) are available for students in the areas of Applied Computational Fluid Dynamics, Acoustics, Fluid-Structure Interactions and Combustion. For further information please contact Dr. Kader Frendi at "frendi@mae.uah.edu" or by phone at (256)-824-7206.
