Camp Faculty and Staff Directions and Campus Map Registration and Scholarship Information Contact Information Activities Bridge Design: Use an interactive computer simulation model to design a truss bridge to carry the load of a truck. Build a scale model of your bridge and test it for failure. Circuits & Sensors: Learn how sensors obtain information from their environment, and how they convert this information into electrical signals. Then put it together: assemble and test your circuit with its sensors. Robotics Challenge: Use your imagination to design your team robot. Then create and download computer programs to make it follow your commands. Which team will win the Robo Challenge? Chemical Reactions: Learn to use a three dimensional microscope, measure the chemical kinetics of an enzyme catalyzed reaction and the principles that govern it, and make your own take-home souvenir! Optics: Rocket Launch: Can you be the von Braun of tomorrow? Design your rocket and launch it. Did it reach high enough to complete the mission? Back To Top Camp Faculty and Staff ESC 2008 activities will be led and supervised by College of Engineering (COE) faculty. Camp faculty are chosen for their dedication and their ability to work with young people as well as their particular expertise in engineering. Camp faculty represent all five departments at the COE. They will share their practical knowledge and skills in ways that will stimulate learning and critical thinking. Assistance and additional supervision will be provided by COE staff and graduate students. Please contact the Summer Camp Coordinator for further information: Engineering Summer Camp is a non-residential day camp. However, we welcome and encourage students from a wide geographical area to attend. While housing is not covered by Camp fees, affordable, on-campus housing for the week of ESC can be arranged individually between a student and University Housing. A signed copy of the Housing Release Form must be submitted to the office of University Housing before a student can stay there.
